I have long decided to join an REI club. I plan to invest in the St. Louis area after the first of the year. Of all of the ones I have looked into I like WIN the best. Is there anyone out there in this area who has attended meetings with them before? They appear to offer alot more info on their website then most, and are very quick to respond to questions.
Also, off the subject a bit-I have been trying to figure a way to get market info on the areas I plan to invest in. I realize that driving, getting contacts in the area, talking to local real estate agents, etc. are the best ways, but we live in Louisiana and will not be moving to Mo. for a few more weeks. I grew up in K.C., and have family in St. Louis so I’m somewhat familiar with the area, but not as far as real estate goes. Are there any websites, etc. that can get the ball rolling learning about market and area specs.? Thanks.
I wanted to post again about something that happened today.
I sent an e-mail to WIN (a local REI club in the St. Louis area) last night. Today, I received a phone call from the founder of the club. We spoke for over an hour! Maybe this is normal for people to receive calls, but I was THRILLED! She had called because my area code wasn’t from the area she is in (we live in Louisiana until mid January). I have read many books, and talked to people since my initial interest in this business, but I have never been so motivated as I was when I talked to her! I am now SURE of which club I will join!
I plan to attend my first event in Feb. She is having Frank McKinney speak and do a workshop for the club. I am not very familiar with him, but of course, she had great things to say. Any opinions??
I also had MANY questions that she was glad to answer. I know that I am by no means in a position yet to be giving advice, but anyone who has asked questions about attending club meetings-I suggest at least sending an e-mail directly to the club to get information. Since I received a response like I did, I think I will expect that from any club I am interested in from this point on! Maybe not a phone call, but a response of some kind. WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!
