feeling sick in my stomach

hello…i am new to this site, and new to real estate investing…i just invested $15,000 with robert allen, and i’m slipping from excitement to despair as i read more and more reviews…anyone have any experience with him?..thank you

Oh man, I’m so sorry you threw away $15,000.

What did you get for $15k? My guess is nothing worthwhile. $15K is about what it took to get us into our first investment property. Have you made anything from what he “taught” you?

Never shovel that much money for anything without doing due diligence.

I feel for ya, man. My biz partner (who also happens to be my father-in-law) shelled out about $15K for some guru seminar when we were first starting out. Two years later I kick myself in the butt enough for the both of us for letting him do that- we really didn’t get much out of it, at least nothing worth anything close to $15K (unless those binders we got were inlaid with platinum! lol) It’s kind of an unspoken thing between us that we flushed that money down the drain because my partner REALLY regrets it.
If I could do it again, I’d take that money and put it into a property. live and let learn.

The lessons that you REALLY learn are those that cost you money. So, make the best of it and suck every penny of knowledge out of those lessons. Thousands of others have made the same mistake, you are not alone.

Now just forge on ahead, don’t get stuck in “What if…”

All we can do is learn from our mistakes.

On the flip side, you’ve ‘invested’ more funds then others who will never take the first step in doing so, atleast your serious.

Just treat this situation as a ‘bad’ investment with good intentions. It can happen to anyone. Utilize this course in anyway you can, ask a lot of questions, ect. Absorb what you can and run! These gurus give Real Estate Investment an ugly generalization.

I like to get my free read’s from the Library. After reading 100’s of books you eventually pick up on what information is good/relevant and what isn’t, then get out there and make the best informed decision and learn from those.

Don’t feel bad. You did learn something. You could have learned the same thing without paying that $15k, but you applied the information that you had availible to you at the time. Now that you know better you will do better.

Ohh no, get a refund. Did you charge it on your credit. Call up your credit card company. All of his material you can find online or in Borders/Barnes and Noble. If you are going to spend that much money go to a local guru in your area. At least they can “take you by your hand”. Wish you luck.

15k can be made back VERY quickly.

At least you made the DECISION, that you WILL be a real estate investor.

Besides, I’m sure there are people who LOVE robert allen.

I’m undecided… I like his books, but I went to Nouveau Riche…

Oh no…please…no…not again…

Shoulda just set the money on fire - the results would have been the same and we wouldn’t have to be exposed to the up-sell…

I spent 5K on a 3day bootcamp and it really got me kick started. The reality is that less than 4% of people ever do anything after the seminars. Therefore, you can learn for much less by reading books and finding a really good mentor or REI Club. But knowing you paid 15K may tick you off so bad that you have to invest. Just make sure you buy right with equity and cash flow and have multiple exit strategies.

Don’t waste money think before your action.

I never knew a boot camp existed of that amount.
But Like everyone says since you feel like you got ripped off the more heart you have to succeed!

Heres to your success!

Tom,

It is what it is. My mentors when I got started had invested about the same amount in another “guru” and they’ve done very well. Did they have to spend that much to gain the knowledge they needed, absolutely not. The real question is what will you do with what you learn. Hopefully that 15K will “fuel the fire” enough for you to treat real estate like the powerhouse that it is and enable you to take massive action!! If you can’t get out of it, just make sure that you get more than 15K of knowledge from it, and MUCH more in Real Estate Investing than that.
