Experienced investors/rehabbers:

Are there any jobs that you would recommend that someone new to REI look into? I am moving and will need a new job…and figure that getting into a job that will teach me something about real estate/building/trades etc. may be a good start. I am initially thinking of possibly working for a builder, a real estate office, or volunteering for habitat for humanity.

don’t forget mortgage companies and banks that have mortgage lending or servicing centers. I started in customer service for a mortgage company. The lending contacts, REO officers, lenders, delinquint customers calling, access to systems and databases were valuable.

Working as a real estate assistant to agents and brokers, title companies, and appraisers assistant are all good areas to get your feet wet in the industry.
