Ever install Mill's Pride Cabinets

I am in the process of rehabbing a kitchen and was looking for feedback on the Mill’sPride cabinets from Home Depot. Anyone out there use them. Thanks for the info.

I have a few different times, and never had any problems. The cabinets themselves are all particle board and laminate, with cam and lock assembly. The doors are all real wood though, which make the cabinets look much nicer.

I like Mill’s Pride… pretty easy to assemble, decent quality for the price… I don’t think they look cheap or anything, which is nice.

I actually have Mills Pride in the house I live in. They’re fine.

I’ve used on several projects with good results; just don’t get them soaking wet (i.e. leave them outside to be rained on). The particle board will swell up and split the laminate top surface

Yea they are good for the money. You just have to keep in mind who your potential buyer will be, a first time buyer or someone moving up. They are great for starter homes, but I would not put them in a luxury home. Just a thought

I considered Mills Pride, but I don’t like the way the particle board breaks down over time. Before I went ahead with a purchase of Mill’s Pride cabinets, I checked on Ebay. If found a seller who offers a 9" base cabinet for $49 as a sample. They offer 4 different colors. (white, oak, honey spice maple, and sunset maple).

The biggest difference was in the cabinet carcass. They use 1/2" plywood instead of particle board. HUGE difference. The cabinets were shipped from Texas (Made in China) and showed up in 6 days after placing my order. I went with the Honey Spice Maple finish. The raised panel has a nicer detail than many of the off the shelf cabinets you will find and also has an arched raised panel.

People will tell you that the assembly is time consuming, but I disagree. The cabinets I purchased have a face from (unlike some other RTA cabinets). The doors came mounted to the face frame. Already aligned. Assembly took about 5 - 10 minutes per cabinet (depending on drawers, etc.). The finish wasn’t perfect, but the quality of the doors and carcass, was very good. The drawer boxes were made of maple and were even dovetailed (not yet assembled). The dovetail was not advertised, so maybe it was a fluke.

To top it off, they cost less than the RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets from HD or Lowe’s and come with a greater selection of cabinets and options (pantries, wine racks, crown, etc.). I purchased my own crown locally and found it easy to match up the finish.

I don’t know if it is OK to plug the company, but here it is. www.kitchenyourway.com.

Good luck. Feel free to ask a follow up. Keep in mind, I have only purchased the honey spice maple. They are installed and look great.
