Was wondering if anyone here has used www.lendingtree.com?
Their tv ads are nearly as good as Geico’s neanderthal commerical.
Any thoughts?

it’s good if you want 8 people pulling your credit. it can work, but your credit can take a hit. It’s good for people who have shopped for mortgage before, but not for someone who is new to the game. You will be more than overwhelmed at the knowledge the 8 different people try to impart on you.
Stay far away from it - you will be overwhelmed by telemarketers. Your phone number will be in the hands of every loser schmuck on the planet who wants to sell you something. I had to put a pin number protection on my phone to stop the calls from getting through. The Do Not Call List is a joke.
Before, when I knew next to nothing at all about mortgages and the whole RE industry, I used them. They claim that lenders will compete, yet I only got ONE lender willing to take me on (I actually had good credit, etc., so I still don’t know why I only got one lender). It all worked out with this one lender, but needless to say I could have done just as well at the time by turning the yellow pages, closing my eyes, and throwing a dart. Of course today, I could probably do a LOT better. ;D
