european workers?

my investor partner has been building houses for years in europe. we wanna buy land and bring his team of (10) workers to the US and build houses on them. his workers are very professional, and cost a lot less than workers in the US.
we have all the necessary cash to pay for everything, the land, the construction, the material, the workers, the permits…

so how can this be done? how can we get the workers visa? what kind of special permits do we need?

thanks.

Visas foranybody based on work are very hard to get, basically you have to prove they have some special skill not available in your area, I would doubt very much if you could bring European building workers over on any sort of work based visaa, you could try marrying them off to US citizens! All other visas, especially for European countries are limited to a specific number each year, I think you will find that by the summer they are all used up untill next year.

Even an immigrant who is coming to the States to invest or set up in business must be talking about a minimum of $500k (I think that was the figure the last time I read it) and if setting up in business must guarantee to employ a certain number of US citizens.

we want to build buildings with 8-16 apartments, which requires a couple of million to invest. i’m a US citizen, and i have a company, so my partner doesn’t necessarily need to come and form his own company here. and we are planning to hire a number of US employees too. we want to build brick houses, so this is why we wanna use our team of professionals from europe.

American Workers are better!!!

The one thing you have to be able to prove is that there is nobody locally capable of doing the job. Not to lessen the skill of a bricklayer in any way I think you would find it very hard to prove, the company I work for hires people from all over the world and they have a team of attorneys who work on nothing but visa applications, they have to prove that their qualifications - MBNA’s mostly - are the highest and cannot be met by someone locally who would want the position.
