Envelopes

Where do you guys buy your envelopes for your mailings from?

I plan to use card size envelopes rather than business or personal size, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a cheap source.

Thanks.

I dont use card size… I use double windows for my professional letters and plain cheap #10s for my Mary letters.

I buy them from Quill online and have them delivered…

I don’t use envelopes anymore. Homeowners in foreclosure receive so much mail daily that it is very common for them to toss your letter in the trash without ever opening it. I have found that I receive a better response when I use post cards. This way I do not give them the option of tossing it in the trash without at least reading the big words on the card. I use HOTCARDS for my mailings. See HERE.

Yes, postcards are in my plan as well. First I plan to hit them with the mail, which will be basically a yellow letter in a card size envelope and then post cards and so on…

Youre going to be missing sellers by just using postcards… Postcards are touches… Letters are call to action…Sure postcards create calls but Letters create Seller Urgency…

And dont go with small envelopes…

As for letters not getting opened, I agree it’s a bitch… Which is why you must mail and mail and mail some more to the same seller. You need to be there when they decide they need you…

The last 100k I made was from one of my Professional Letters… BTW it was opened…

Why do you say not to use “small envelopes”?

Mine will probably be BDay Card size…

I buy big boxes of envelopes at Costco. That’s the best price I’ve found and the quality is decent. They don’t have any of the small ones, though, and white is the only color.

I used to be able to get big boxes at an office supply big box store. But the big national chain office supply stores in this area aren’t offering any bargains, and they don’t even carry the large boxes of envelopes.

I’d try some of the privately owned office supply stores and see what they could order them for. if you find them on line, shipping is going to kill any savings.

I don’t use small envelopes because I mail out Professional Letters, Mary Letters and Postcards…

The professional letters go in a double window #10 envelope. BTW the reason for double windows is because that’s what professional services use… I.e. Doctors. The Mary letters go in a “Cheap” # 10 , the key is that the receiver needs to see the paper.

The only thing I can say is that these three direct mail types WORK…

I have tried a lot of methods over the years…

Good Luck

PS as for Costco… If you’re going to Costco already fine but the most cost effective way to buy supplies is via the net and have them delivered… Your time and cost of transportation is worth more then a few dollars…

I got mine from www.digitalroom.com. They use 70lb paper stock which is ideal material for reproducing images and designs well. Its smooth, opaque and bright properties make colors richer and more vibrant which all add up to premium quality prints. They have also do custom jobs.

personally i buy envelopes both online and at the office supply store; i use a multi-step varied envelope. i have used small envelopes with great success - the reason why they work is because regular sized envelopes are used by 99% of all investors; i am not trying to be professional as much as I am trying to get my envelope opened which when i send a small envelope handwritten it looks as if it came from someone the homeowner knows…

i have also mailed letters in the large manila envelopes and a host of other types of mailings, IMO the key is to stray away from what EVERYBODY else is doing! You want your mailings to STAND OUT above the clutter of the other 257 letters in their mail!

I personally read all of my mail, junk mail etc and I get ideas and strategies from other companies who mail millions of pieces; they spend millions of dollars on copywriters and designers to get you to read their message so you can get a FREE education by simply paying closer attention to your email… Just my $.02, fairly new to the forum but not new to investing and I love the dialogue…
