Direct Mailings - any database out there to download addresses?

I am looking to do a Direct Mailing to Pre-Foreclosure Property. Does anyone know of a database that will download addresses to mailing labels insead of me handing writing all of them by hand? I am a member with Realty Trac, but they don’t seem to do that unless I buy their postcards which I don’t want to do. Thanks.

I used to use RealtyTrac, but I quit. I can’t recall, but I have to think you can export your lists to a CSV file, can’t you?

If that is the case, then you just export the file and then merge to your labels in Word or whatever you use to create your labels.

Depending on the format the list is provided, you could do it all in MS Office (import list into Excel and mail merge info onto an Avery Label template in MS Word/Publisher), but do you want to do this?

I have done significant testing on response rates and the printed vs. written word (written letters vs. computer generated, written labels vs. computer generated, etc.) and all of my studies lead to one thing…

The written word always outpulls the computer generated one.

It something about the personalization that effects the reader; I’ve heard things like, “nobody takes the time to personally write to anyone anymore” or “I’ve never seen anybody do this before”, etc.

May I suggest that you go to Staples and have them prepare you a small batch of printed labels (or whatever it is you are printing) and you can split test it against your written version to see what outpulls?

It would be a shame to make an investment in automating the process, only to find out that your response rates are taking a hit when you do it.

I’m currently testing my marketing using cursive fonts (to mimic my handwriting) against my handwritten control for the same reason you are investigating it…to save time and put yourself in front of more potential deals.

Good luck.
