A friend of mine got me all paranoid when she came across a website online that indicated to beware of deed scams with all the flipping of lots that is taking place in SW Florida.
I am closing on a lot in 2 days. I’m getting financing from a bank, the seller is paying the closing costs and I’m using the seller’s title company. How do I ensure that I’ve taken the right steps to make sure I don’t get scammed?
Does the bank help to ensure this before they issue the loan. I also had the lot surveyed. Does that help guard against scams? Once I see a deed with my name on the county website, can I assume I’m clear from there. Please help!!! :-\
