I found a wonderful prospect for a rehab. Current listed owner through the local courthouse is deceased. Contacted deceased owner’s closest family (nephew) and He says he has no idea about the house and no additional family around.
House was winterized by a company (Sticker on door). Lockbox is also on front door. I called the Company and they will not release info on who hired them to winterize.
Any ideas on how to find Current owner or Deed holder to make an offer???
Exhausted the courthouse, Tax records, and Family members of the deceased. ANY other ideas would be great.

Hmmmm. Sounds to me like you have exhausted all means in which you without further assistance can find the owner. I assume you have checked with the neighbors. The only suggestion I have is to visit the police/sheriff station and see if they can help. Perhaps you may have to spend a few bucks and have either a title company or website people search service help you .
Sounds like there might be some sort of foreclosure or Sherriff’s sale involved if it is winterized. Graciez
if the owner id deceased, then it would be in probate; probably a court appointed adminstrator is handling the property. check filings in the deceased name in the local superior court filings.
Thanks for the tips. I was also thinking of leaving a note and/or business card on the door in case a caretaker shows up.
I will also check the probate court. property hasn’t been listed, to date, as a sheriff sale property so that’s out.
