Is the DBA just for marketing purposes and business cards? Do people actually buy properties in the name of the DBA, and use the DBA on a lease? Thanks.
You can use the DBA for any legitimate purpose, but I’m not sure if you can buy in the name of the DBA.
Our dba name is on our MS leases and it’s the only company name for us that our MS residents know of. We put our dba name on all our RE contracts here, use it for all correspondence related to operations in MS, etc. When we do mortgages, the bank puts the entire company name along with the dba name on the paper work.
