current rents

Hi, anyone know of a good source to find market rents???

Howdy TRwilliams:

Loopnet is good for commercial deals. The newspaper, online site like forrent.com and signs in the yard and for rent magazines and Realtors are the only other sources I can think of. Not much help.

You might also try Property Management companies. They can usually do a free rental analysis for you. Just don’t abuse them, tho.

Another great source is: http://www.huduser.org/datasets/fmr.html

This is HUD’s site for fair rents in any state/county/city. I find it to be a tad high for my area, but I give a break for a solid tenant. I don’t like to deal with evictions, but who does?! Frankly I’ve been absent from the site because of a new purchase and an uncollected rent issue <oman).

Good luck!
