Houdy. Are any of you folks familiar with the services offered by Tracy Ballard, credit spcialist? My credit is not so good and I am thinking about signing up with her. However, I would like to know if any of you has used her or know if she is as good as claims to be. Thanks alot have a great one.
I have never heard of her - but be careful, there is a lot of hype with promises of quick fixes. I have some great resources for a variety of options. It is important that you have a grasp of the big picture and necessary steps. Contact me direct if you are interested.
I once heard her message in a telesiminar. She is all about challenging everything on the credit report and eliminating inquiries. Her fee at the time was around $3K. Most of she offers you can do yourself for free.
Go visit Myfico.com there is lots of good advice on that board for free. Main thing is pay the bills on-time and try to keep the utilization of your credit cards below 15% of your available line.
I have done this myself and even though I still have a bankruptcy on my report (4 years ago) my credit scores are now in the mid 700’s…
I’ve never heard of her either and if the cost is that high, I’d consider trying some other options first.
I recently bought a book (I haven’t read it yet…oy!!) called Credit Repair to Credit Millionaire. I think the author was Donna Fox. I’m sure you can find it on the internet and read about it to decide if you think it will help.
At this point, I’d rather spend $20 (or whatever it is) than $3,000 (yowza!!). :shocked
Do it yourself man, do the research and you’ll find more than enough info. Back in the day you had to write to the credit bureaus, now you can do everything ONLINE. I doubt it will cost you $150. DO IT YOURSELF, because if you get flagged by one of these bureaus for making a “frivolous” request, your behind is grass. Learn all you can and do it carefully! DO NOT PAY SOMEONE, who faces no consequences if they further screw up your credit.
My ex had some issues years ago…she still has issues, but that’s a story for another time… OK. Credit issues. Her old roommate used her SS# to help herself to some “free” things and services. Trying to get something done through the credit bureaus back then was a lost cause. New laws have fixed a lot of that. If I remember right, they have 30 days to respond with some type of answer if you challenge something on your report.
I see no reason to pay anyone to dispute legitimate claims on your behalf.
If you really want to do this… all you have to do is go to the credit boards {not sure if I am allowed to post their URL on here, but any search engine will bring them up as number 1}. There you will learn everything you need to know from regular folks who used those techniques to clean up their credit reports all for the amazing low low price of… $0 !!! {internet service provider not included}.
You can post the link if you have no monetary affiliations to the site.
