Credit Repair Institutions

I was wondering if someone knows a credible credit repair company that can work with clients anywhere in the country.

If they own real estate with a 500 or better, my firm probably can (within reason of course). For standard credit repairing, I think most of the CCCS firms can work nationwide. Just google cccs and you’d be amazed at the number of them.

The creditboards website will do more for you than you can imagine.
It just takes time and persistence. Good Luck, T.

Both sides have truth.

Yes, you can do this for yourself.
Does it take longer, yes!

Anytime you have to learn something new, you’ll have a learning curve and some mistakes that equals longer.

Do CCC’s perform this service, no!
They call it credit repair because of the keyword marketing value.

Are there reputable credit repair companies, yes!

How do you know whom is reputable and whom is not?
Easy!

• Does the company adhere to federal statues spelled out for repair companies in the C.R.O.A. (Credit Repair Organization Act)
These statues are HOW the repair clinics are supposed to perform, fee and provide services.
• Especially: SEC. 404. PROHIBITED PRACTICES
(a) In General.–No person may–
b) Payment in Advance.–No credit repair organization may charge or receive any money or other valuable consideration
for the performance of any service which the credit repair organization has agreed to perform for any consumer before such service is fully performed

Very few I have had the pleasure to investigate follow these statutes, thus most are not in business very long. Those that are (i.e. Lexington law) have legal teams that weave thru the laws.

Common among the last mentioned group is minimal results backed by a warranty that although is legal is absolutely unilateral to the extreme.

Also common among this group is the shameless reproduction of the F.C.R.A. (Fair Credit Reporting Act) This explain a consumers rights to have wrong or erroneous information removed (i.e. the dangling carrot)

So there you have it my two and a half cents folks……

Login to www.myfico.com and buy your combined credit report. If there is any information that is incorrect, dispute it. If you run into a problem with a creditor who will not remove false information and you have documentation proving that it’s incorrect, then call an attorney and ask him to write a cease and desist letter to the credit reporting bureau and creditor threatening a lawsuit without further notice.
