Corporate entity

Do you have to have a coporate entity in order to do a Sub to? For all you “already schooled” I hope this makes sense? Thanks!!

No you don’t. The entity just comes down to how you want to title the property. You can hold property in your name vs. an LLC if you want.

If you want a corporate name, get a DBA license for city hall. Build your business first and then worry about entities.

A DBA is not a corporate name… Corporate names are their own entity and a DBA is an “entity” doing business as… And corp are not required to obtain one… Unless a corp is using a second business name.

Rule of thumb…

Fred Smith doing business as Smith’s Catering is not required to have a DBA.

Smith’s Catering , Inc., is not required to have a DBA.

Fred Smith or Smith’s Catering Incorporated is required if they want to do business as Jones Catering

Micheal,

By corporate name, I mean to operate under a name different from his personal name as you describe. I’m trying to talk in terms people without experience can understand, even if it means the wording is a little off. Maybe I should be more precise in my language. I operate from a philosophy that posters should be given an idea or a little information; just enough so that they can start their own research into the subject and educate themselves appropriately.

Got it…
