There is a 3-unit multi-family next door to where I live. It is comprised of three floor-throughs with the owner/landlord living downstairs. Since I’ve lived here for about 14 months, the landlord has been doing work on the outside of the house. In that time, he has painted the outside, added a back porch, put on a new roof, replaced the windows, taken down several trees, and begun construction on a front porch. It is constant noise over there: hammering, sawing, etc. Yet, the whole time he has had the same tenants occupying the house. How does he do it? In fact, one of the tenants even works from home! I almost considered moving myself solely because of the noise.
I mean I know he has the right to do whatever he wants to the house, but I can’t imagine how he’s kept his tenants in the house for these 14 months.
BTW, it is a little weird that he’s fixing up the house to this extent because it wasn’t that bad to begin with, especially relative to the neighborhood. But, maybe, he plans on living there himself for a long time and just wants it to look good. :-\
