I’m trying to come up with an LLC that has a similarly available Domain name or something thats relatively close, and I’ve been stuck on this process for almost a month now. It’s stalling me tremendously from taking the next step. Does/did anyone else have this problem? It’s so unbelievably frustrating to be stuck at this point, and any advice would be great!
Really? Get stuck because you can’t think of a name?
Agreed. I think you should never stall any business launch because of a name or logo.
You can start as many businesses as you like and can make mistakes as long as you learn from them.
I think many people have these issues when they should be always thinking about providing value foremost.
I hope you can figure out something soon and get started helping people and yourself.
My advice; settle for a business name that provides some information about what your business does. Calling your landscaping business “Lawn and Order” is appropriate, but the same name would not do well for a Realtor.
The name is important but not as advertising. Why is Google called Google. It is not what it does. It is not search engine LLC Apple is not great computers LLC. Watch your favorite movie and call the company one of the minor characters. For example if you like the Twilight movies name your company Jasper,LLC. You ask why because if you are trying to show in court that you are not your company (corporate veil) then the name should not be your own name. It is hard when you are being sued in court and you try to say that when John Smith LLC messed them over and your name is John Smith that it was not you but some seperate company.
Hi,
Coming Up With A Company Name, Inc.
Now it’s done!

Does a company name be somewhat related to the business or service it offers? Or is it better to be unique?
Keeping it simple is important but if you can include at least one of the phrases or words you’d like to rank for ‘can’ be helpful if you’re looking to gain traction on Google. Just my 2.1c for the day.
Think about the 4 biggest names in tech: Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook. The names are pretty out there and now they are in our lives on a daily and only one of them (Apple) is of something we could physically consume everyday.
Simple is better.
I understand where you’re coming from. I’ve gotten bogged down by that decision in the past too. While it can make a difference, it’s not necessarily a deal-breaker if you end up with a name that’s not perfect. In the past I spent weeks deliberating over a business name. Now, looking back at the name I picked, I feel like “What was I thinking?” It’s not that memorable, I have to spell it every time, and people often get it wrong. But in the end, I’m still using the name like 7 years later and my site ranks well for some of my keywords, so it really isn’t worth worrying over too much. So don’t let it keep you from making progress. In reality, you’re the only one who really cares much about the name.
But, that being said, if you can keep the name pretty short (as few syllables as possible) and use alliteration (two or more words starting with the same letter), it will make it more memorable.
Great example allrei! The most important thing about your company name is how well it ranks with the keywords. That’s the key to being seen in search. Good luck!
