Hello all, I am new to real estate investing, I have been getting educated but still have a long way to go. I would like some suggestions for getting educated in real estate values in a given area.
Are there online sources that would give me asking/selling price? Should I contact a real estate agent? Any information would be helpful and appreciated.

A real estate agent can give you Asking/Selling price on properties.
If you really have a long way to go. Consider Carleton Sheet’s no money down course. It’s only 20.00 bucks to review the course for 30 days. It will fill in a lot of blanks for a new potential real estate investor. Then if you like it you can buy it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
