I would like to attend a meeting and possibly join a club if there is one around. If not are there any folks in East Tennessee active on this forum? I have yet to make an investment, other than building my residence on Norris Lake. I would like to hear any local insights on the market in East Tennessee, including Gatlinburg area. I love this website, it is a great asset for investors. I hope I will be able to educate myself on REI, make a plan and make it happen.
I would like to build a passive income through rentals. I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks for the reply. I have checked the location you mentioned and TN has clubs for the west and middle. Since TN is a long state that means the closest one is 2 to 3 hours. I have gained some insight after reading and I have decided to contact a local investor I know, and see if he might be willing to mentor me. I think I will concentrate on the option technique since I don’t have large chunks of liquid cash other than a Heloc. I am not sure I want to go the landlord route at this time either.

That appears to be about 45 mnutes away…I would guess that’s as close as you’ll find in that area – no offense but the population density in SW Tennessee is not real high…
