I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately of books by other landlords…One mentioned that he doesn’t ever install closet doors (they need purchasing/installing, painting, get beat up, need repainting, etc.)…Makes sense to me for Section 8 properties, but I was thinking maybe put in a closet door in the master bedroom and no others…
Opinions?
If you’re talking an upper income rental in NYC, I would definitely put closet doors on. If you’re talking a low income rental, NO WAY!

That settles that…Thanks Mike…
By the way, I’m also following your advice on painting the wood floors with the exterior Wal-Mart true walnut paint…Question though…If the floors had to be repaired (new joists put in, with plywood over the formerly opened area), would wood putty around the edges work prior to painting?..Do you have to seal the plywood prior to painting?..And would it all look okay after painting?..I was thinking I might even have to tile these bedrooms with the “patches” in them since I’m not using carpet anymore…
