Found a man here in Texas wanting to sell his house for what he owes. Research shows a child support lien that was filed against him before he purchased the house. Will this lien follow to me if I purchase this house for what he owes?
Joe - These type of liens (fed tax/childsupport)are filed against both the individual personally and on any property they own. I know in some cases even fed tax irs liens can be subordinated for a short sale. In this case you will need to contact the Texas FOC to find out if they will do this and then find out the process to file for subordination.
Thanks Troy
