Check for Liens without Escrow/Title Company

Do you guys know any places online to see if a property has liens on it? I am working with a pre-foreclosure now that seems too good to be true, but he has a couple of judgements on his credit that worry me.
Thanks,
Ryan

C’mon guys. No Ideas?

What county/state?

Check the public records online for the particular county the property is in. You should be able to find the online public records (if they exist) via this link:

Thurston, Washington State

You could utilize public records information online to a certain extent, however, not all liens, encumbrances, and defects are found at this point.

A title search will go back some 30+ years. The benefit of using a title insurance company is that the purchaser can be insured against having to defend the title, thus receiving clear and marketable title from the seller.

Thanks,
I will end up using them. I was just curious to see if there was a way I could look for free, without getting them involved. That way I could pre-screen any deals before the PSA got to the title company. Thanks for your help.
