Capital gains in Michigan question

To Michigan investors:
Does Michigan follow the federal rules for capital gains? Can I expect to pay 15% gains on a rental property held for 3 years and sold for about $40,000 in profit? (actual profit will show as less after costs)
TX . Mike

The 15% capital gain tax rate you cite applies to your federal income taxes. Michigan will tax your capital gain according to the income tax rates set by the state of Michigan.
