Canadian Beginner Investor

Please answer my question…anyone

I’ve just read “Buying Homes in Nice Areas With Nothing Down” by Peter Conti and David Finkel. How applicable is this book toward investors in Ontario, Canada? As for the “Lease Option Contract” do I need a special one in Ontario (OREA), or is okay and legal to use a very generic Lease Option Agreement using a fill in the blank spaces method?

Your reply is very much appreciated
Thank You.

  1. That book is an extremely basic introduction to L/Os. You can’t base any kind of investing on what you learned from it, regardless of the country you live in. You need more advanced education before you can jump in. I recommend either The Naked Investor by Michael Carbonare, or William Bronchick’s Lease/Options course.

  2. The contracts from The Naked Investor can be used in Ontario right out of the box. Bronchick’s probably can as well but I haven’t seen them in quite a few years so I can’t say for sure.
