Yes you can,
But why would you. Tax certs = maybe as high as18%. Investing in real estate w/ no money 100’s to 1000’s % percent return.

I do want to get started investing in real estate and was hoping this would be a good stepping stone…the no money down policy sounds great, but there’s still a whole lotta info that I need to read up on before venturing into rei. Any good tips?

Yes, stop reading up on Tax Certs. Go to Amazon.com and look up real estate books and make selections on the no money down stuff and all the other area’s of interest.

Darin, I’ve also heard that RE agent fees can really cut into profits of a real estate investor…so would acquiring a RE agent license be a good idea? Do many REI do the same thing or are there ways of selling property w/o an agent? Sorry, if it sounds like a complete newb question, but every little bit helps
Fee’s can cut into profits. But what if a realtor just brought you a deal that makes you 30k after he gets his fee. How much profit did you loose?
Lets say you have no clue on how to sell a home you just bought. Just guessing here. So you list it with the realtor and after fee’s you get paid another 30k. Now how much did you loose in profit?
Answer= nothing. With ou the realtors you would have made 0. I have found, for me, again that is for me, having a license would not be a benefit. I use 3 realtors constantly. They all have a couple properties listed for me. They show, qualify, sell and keep my plate clear to find other properties. I do sell many without realtors also. If I can’t purchase a lead at wholesale and the seller is over financed or needs retail , I send him to one of my realtors, actually I send my realtor to him , get it listed, sold and the realtors always put some thing a little extra in my Christmas Stocking !
