BPO Agents

I have heard some gurus talk about establishing relationships with BPO agents in order to get preforeclosure listings early. Has anyone else hear of this technique and if so, how should I approach them?

A BPO agent can’t give you listings early. At least not a legitimate agent who doesn’t want to jeopardize his real estate license.

I use a BPO agent to do my BPO to refute the amount a lender wants to insist upon on my short sales.

I send in a BPO with my original request. This way they know that I know what I am doing, that I know the value of the property and if there is a disagreement about the amount, I have a BPO to fall back on.

I use a local recognized BPO agent. Meaning, the lenders recognize this agent as legit and he does BPO’s for them as well. However, he can’t do one for both of us on the same property. He has helped me out when the lender’s BPO came in higher than mine by calling the agent who did the lender’s BPO and ask him to lower his numbers. That worked quite well since my agent got inside and the lender’s agent didn’t.
