So I’m looking to invest in a billboard but it they’re incredibly difficult to find for sale. I found one that’s been listed for a long time on Craigslist but it seems way too good to be true. He has it listed for $2000 and it’s a very large double sided billboard, and I checked out the city and intersection that the billboard is located on and it’s a legitimate billboard.
There were a few investors whom I’ve known over the years that owned billboards…the common denominator with them is that they were very wealthy…and much of their wealth came form investing in real estate and billboards…if it were me, I would examine the contract AND the further examine the arrangements that the owner of the billboard has with the property owner where the billboard sits…make certain that the contract is transferable and the terms are satisfactory to you, the buyer for the time, money, etc. in exchange for the investment.
IN fact, if you do not want this, I would have an interest in making an offer, doing the due diligence, and if purchased, would pay you a finders fee.
Thank you for the reply guys. I really want to get in to billboards, they’re so hard to find for sale!! If you guys can provide resources where I can find billboards for sale, please let me know.
I’ll look into cell phone towers, thanks for the suggestion Bill!
Rod, the listing was for advertising space on the billboard, not the billboard being sold. I’m not sure why he’s struggling to get advertising for it, it’s at a good intersection with lots of traffic. The listing has been up for many months.
