Best Real Estate Courses You Own

Please provide a top five of your favorite Real Estate Courses and or educators and why you like them.

Here’s my contribution. I own or owned the first three, but I’m comfortable recommending the last two because I have either read or reviewed their material.

  1. Bill Gatten (NARS) - creator of the equity holding trust, a hybrid combination of the land trust, triple net lease and equity share. To become a member of his professional network is very expensive, but his course is about $599. However, he puts on a 3-day seminar free. He also sells a free ebook, No Down, No New Loan which provides an excellent foundation for subject to purchasing and controlling real estate. I know Bill, and he is a brilliant and honest man. In his program he stresses treating everyone fairly – the seller and the buyer.

  2. Paul Simon (not the midget that sings "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover) - A redhead with an evangelistic flair, he was one of the original gurus – an equity share expert in California in the early 1980’s. Paul was probably the best and most entertaining educator and his program was excellent. Unfortunately, his creative attempt to have the buyer relinquish his rights to the property in the event of default without a foreclosure was frowned upon by the courts and he retired on Maui.

  3. Dr. Richard Powelson - One of the most creative of all gurus, in a time when interest rates were at 18%, he had people using bonds and single payment insurance as alternate collateral for your real estate loans. Haven’t heard from him in many years.

  4. Bill Bronchick - well respected Colorado attorney who also is a strong advocate of using land trusts, but spreads his expertise across the Internet on a variety of real estate topics and sells his information.

  5. Donald Trump - For rehabbing and commercial investing he has no peer.

Da Wiz

I’m sure Bill’s Free Seminar isn’t really free  Just razzin’ ya Wiz. Thanks for the info. It’s good to hear from other investor regarding which programs they have enjoyed.

Can you tell me more about the benefits of Land Trusts. I’ve never spent much time on this topic.
