Bathroom vanities

Any suggestions on where to get a 36" vanity in Chicago that’s not going to set me back $1,000 and isn’t from Home Depot, Lowe’s or places like that. I wasn’t real impressed with what they had, but I also can’t find anything anywhere else. Thanks for the help

Try talking to a local cabinetry maker… Or something that’s real popular these days is to take an old dresser or other piece of furniture and convert it. There are directions for said conversion on several of the DIY sites and tv shows.

Hey Naperbill,

I live in Aurora and got a 36 inch vanity at Menards for $140. I returned it when I found another at HOBOs for $80. The one form Menards was nicer but now that the “cheap” one is installed it looks great.

HOBOs are in Villa Park, Crest Hill, and several other locations. Do a google search for “home owners bargains outlet”.

They also have great prices on kitchen cabinets.

Hope this helps.

Thanks folks. I knew when I posted it wouldn’t take long to get some answers.

Sounds like naperbill is working on the high end homes. Is it a rental or rehab and flip?

This is an update of a 1970’s “Brady House” and I would love to find a new home for my harvest gold tub and toilet to go with the chocolate brown vanity. As much as I’d like to think I’m cutting edge with this whole retro look we have going, it’s truly nauseating to look at and it’s also the place we call home. I’ve gotten rid of much of the things that scream 70’s, but I’m either going to take out these bathrooms and some kitchen cabinets or they’re going to take me out.

No time for cheese (anymore), high end stuff, rentals or flips-------yet
