Yeah, the Atlanta crew (with Sam Leccima) were the guys doing the fake Flip This House shows. All the episodes with him were staged/fake. However a girl that worked for him, a real estate agent, is still filming shows with a new crew out of Atlanta. Go to Google.com and search for “sam leccima” if you want to read one of the million articles about the scam.
Trademark was the only true flippers that I liked watching. I am starting to pay attention to property ladder and flip that house, but I don’t like how they always end up doing such massive jobs and they always seem to be losing money if you do the math and not rely on the claimed numbers.
Problem with Trademark is that you can’t be sure of their results. They did a house and at the end of the episode they said that it sold for X amount of dollars. Too bad I know for a fact that the house was still on the market when that episode aired. Now, that’s not to say that the original deal didn’t fall through. Their contractor (who I think doesn’t work with them anymore) is a nice guy. He goes to my wife’s gym. I’ve heard that Ginger is not nice to work with, but you know how rumors go.
The Trademark shows are what got my wife interested in REI. Not too crazy about any of the other crews. I’d say that’s part of the reason I’m starting on this journey. We do watch Flip That House and sometimes Property Ladder, but usually tend to doubt the numbers.
**And I’d be very happy to work with Ginger. :biggrin
I always question their numbers specially when they never factor in holding costs, closing costs, and realtor costs. Some of the deals turn out upside down. I liked watching them because they were/appeared to be ethical and did the job well.
I got a call once from couple who went into REI thinking they can do this rehab themselves and make big bucks… the lady told me it looked easier on TV… the problem was that they purchased it wrong and paid too much thinking they can sell it way above market I guess, or under estimated the repairs. I was not interested in the deal even with them pouring $16k into it and not finishing it.
I’d like to see these guys go through the actual details of the deals and how they did it. But that’s not sexy or dramatic enough for T.V. But if anyone is dumb enough to get into flipping because it looks so easy to do on T.V, deserve to take a bath along with the lenders who gave them the money. A beginner investor should have to put up enugh money to where they dtand to lose money if they default… Maybe their rich Uncle Sam can bail them out! :shocked

Not me. She’d have been fired long ago. She makes really expensive mistakes: painting bad colors and having to repaint, ordering bad choices in cabinetry, buying houses with just a drive-by without even getting out of her car. She either doesn’t select colors or forgets to tell the painters and doesn’t follow through, so there are people show up to work and no materials there.
I don’t care how cute she is, I don’t pay for consistant incompetance that costs me money. A mistake now and again happens, but her mistakes are on-going and very expensive.
Now Dawn, on the other hand, had her act together. Not that she’s bad looking, but who cares what she looks like? She gets the work organized and done and makes the budget work.
If you want to look at cute women, you can spend $100 at the local gentlemen’s club. You don’t have to pay thousands of dollars for repainting 2-3 times, or pay 10’s of thousands because she didn’t get out of her car to notice that the entire exterior had obvious wood rot and termite piles at the foundation.
It is funny when they fling dead rats at her though! i think she needs to drop that poor excuse for a dog and leave it home. If he likes to look at her, then maybe she should wear some Peg Bundy outfits!! Now there’s a claasy broad!!! :shocked
I believe it came from his early roots (logger pun) working in the woods… tends to make a guy a little meaner. Just kidding Keith!
I don’t like to be mean either… but by the expressions on Gingers face sometimes, she looks to me like she could eat corn off the cob through a picket fence… sorry, couldn’t help myself… :biggrin
BINGO! All that in REI spells “oxygen thief” in my world!!! If she is an REI ‘project’ manager’, she should be in jeans and work shoes, not in short skirts, plunging necklines, and high heels!
Not a bad thing but tetnus is (on second thought, that’s lockjaw and she wouldn’t be able to talk!)! Hope she doesn’t step on a nail or drop a granite countertop on her toe…
