Are heating systems appliances for tax purposes?

I’m putting together the numbers for my accountant. Are heating systems amortized over 27.5 years or do they get more preferential treatment tax-wise?

fwiw…you’re further along than I am…

still trying to figure out how to open these different pieces of correspondence without tearing them to shreds:

central heat = 27.5.

but if you replace it before that you can take the remainder depr in the year you replace. keep records.
