Anyone heard of Mtg Elec...........

HAS ANYONE HEARD OF A MORTGAGE COMPANY NAMED MORTGAGE ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION SYSTEMS (THEY WOULDN’T POSSIBLY BE APART OF COUNTYWIDE, WOULD THEY). I’VE NEVER HEARD OF THEM BUT I HAVE DOZENS AND DOZENS OF FORECLOSURES FROM THEM. IF ANYONE HAS HEARD OF THEM AND DEALT WITH A SS - I’D LIKE TO KNOW HOW THEY ARE TO WORK WITH AND WHAT THEIR SS PACKET IS LIKE. THANKS

I just did a refi and mortgagee is MERS that you are asking about…even thougt the finance co. is not mers.
Ithink they are the co. that the finance co. assigns the mortgage to for reasons that have nothing to do with the bank foreclosure .
I think its just some legal mumbo jumbo.
heres google ans.A system, which enables mortgage lenders to record MERS as mortgagee of record (as nominee for the lender) in county land records, and thereafter to electronically track changes in servicing and beneficial ownership rights over the life of the loan. from wiki:

http://www.mersinc.com

look on the mortgage for an MIN #… type it in on MERS’ website, and you can find the servicer. Basically, MERS is a giant holding company for mortgages to make the transfer of servicing easier to track.

also… it appears your capslock key is stuck… might want to get that looked at.

GREAT THANK YOU SO MUCH SLONDEAU

I’M SORRY EVERYBODY THINKS I’M YELLING CAUSE OF THE CAPS - MY LAPTOP KEYS ARE MOSTLY MISSING SO I KEEP THE CAPS ON - IT’S EASIER TO TYPE THIS WAY - ;D
