This is kind of vague, but does anyone have any ideas what it would cost to build a 1500 sq ft house. ok very vague. Nothing fancy, just your basic ranch

I have heard about $100/sqft. However, I have no experience in this. This of course excludes the cost of the land. I would be interested to see what others have paid. I am sure there are at least a few on this board that have done this. I would also think that the costs would be vary region to some degree.

hI trwilliams,
Yes I’m a general contractor in New Mexico. But each state has there market price on building houses just like buying and selling houses. So these prices may be a little different in your area. If I was to use that example above and build that same house for approximately $145,500 ($72.75 SQ. FT.) I could sell it for approximately $220,000-$240,000 ($110-120 SQ. FT.)
