Any autobody people here?

How much do you figure it will cost to repair front end damage including replacement of the front bumper and hood as well as one of the headlights? Car is a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am. Trying to get an idea ahead of time before I meet with the Geico people.

Call 1-888-(GECKO)4U the little guy seems to have all the answers.

I will tell you this…you ain’t gonna like the number…several thousand dollars.

Did it break the radiator? (add more $$$)

Did it bend the fron clip frame? (add more $$$)

I want it to be lots of money, I want it totalled. I am currently upside down on this loan due to being forced to trade in a car that I still owed money on. Because of this I am upside down by about $5k on this car. I have gap coverage to cover the gap between the Geico payout and what I owe so totalling this car means I walk away even and can buy a new comparable car for a smaller payment. Current NADA retail is about $8500, trade-in is about $6500 so I am hoping there is enough damage to total it out. Last thing I wanted to do was get into an accident but if I do I wanna walk away better than when I started. No radiator damage (at least it isn’t leaking anyway) and no idea about the clip frame.

you are probably looking at about $3000 +/- 500 assuming no frame damage. Uusally to total it out, you have to be @70% of book or greater.

Darn. Should I get out the sledgehammer?

you should have even driven faster or run over a high curb. I’ve done the latter and it wipes out the suspension. This totaled my VW when it had a $12k book value.

It didn’t happen on purpose, if it did I surely would have went faster. This was in traffic at about 20mph.
