Another Newbie..just a few questions

I’ve been lercking on this site for awhile now…just trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible from all of you. Now, that I’m a little more confident in my RE info, I have a few questions.

  1. There was someone that posted an awesome site to help direct us to our county records…I can’t find this site again for the life of me…searched everywhere on this forum. Can someone help me find that site again?

  2. Also, I found a peice of property that has gone to court for Foreclosure. The property is not for sale as of yet…court date is set for the middle of July. I am really interested in this property for my own personal use. It’s close to my family, nice neighborhood, all that. So, I already got the owners name and current address and sent him a letter 6 months ago(before the forclosure process started) I hav enot heard from him. I also called the only phone number I could find for him(I love those people search sites) So, what can I do now? Call the bank that is foreclosing? IF I do this, what do I say to them? Just say i’m interested in purchasing a property they are foreclosing on? Or do I have to wait for it to go to sheriffs sale?

Thanks so much for any information you can give me.

Heather

Newbie,

Why not just go to the property and knock on the door. The seller may be willing to discuss it now that he has no options.

Try this website.

The owners moved out of state. I did finally get ahold of them today, and they stated they are going through a bankrupcy procedure and their lawyer told them it wasnt worth messing with selling. That is frustating. The bank said the owner can sell it, but they don’t want to mess with it. I guess I just have to wait for the sheriff’s sale and hope I don’t get outbid.

Thanks for your help.
