Can anyone please tell me where I can find the law in Alabama that keeps the homeowner’s pre-foreclosure status private. I’ve heard that you can not find pre-foreclosure listings in Alabama because of this law but I have not been able to actually find it in writing.

Any time a deed is recorded it is consider public record. It is up to the lender to record a pre-foreclosure status. I sure you don’t work for free so I don’t think attorney would either. You could ask a title company.
