A couple insurance companies told me they wouldn’t insure an LLC unless it was done for “tax purposes only,” and another one told me they would insure but they would have to get another company to do the liability portion. If I decide to quit claim I’ll bring it up with my insurance company first, but I was wondering if things went smoothly with insurance for other people here?
Keep looking until you find a company that will work with you. You are probably better off with a broker who access to several companies than a single company agent.
Our LLC owns all our properties. We use Country Companies and Guide One for insurance. Foremost will also insure LLC owned properties. As BLL said, just keep searching. Someone saying they’ll do it if the LLC is for tax purposes only is just saying they don’t want to work with you.
I’ll keep looking.
