a tad bit off topic

What gadgets do you find very useful or almost necessary to have in R.E.I?

General

  • Digital camera
  • Laptop
  • Carbon monoxide detector
  • Combustible gas detector
  • Moisture meter
  • Respirator
  • Hard hat
  • Flash light
  • Sig P226
  • Screws and nails

Keys

  • Gas powered cut-off saw (16 in. blade)
  • Sledge hammer
  • “Key to the city” crowbar
  • Cordless drill
  • Claw hammer

a Sig P226…LOL…you’re killing me Danny! You’re getting more like Mike every day!

I’d carry an Ithaca DeerSlayer but they don’t make rifle racks for my vehicle…

Can’t a Sig also fall under the keys category?

If you mean by motivating the key holder to open sesame I suppose.

Otherwise you’d definitely want to go for the 12 ga. breaching rounds to make the lock disappear. Too much shrapnel with anything else.

The cut-off saw can get in just about anywhere. More so in the bigger cities, I buy properties that the current owner has put bricks or concrete blocks in the doors and windows instead of plywood or OSB. A cut-off saw makes quick work of cutting through that, or making a new door where ever I choose.

You can also pickup a semi-automatic MAC-10 from Masterpiece Arms. These guns will stop an entire gang that might try to jump you … assuming you have rent houses in bad neighborhoods. =) http://www.masterpiecearms.com/DP.html?

It concerns me that you were shopping for a MAC-10 at all. I go to a shooting range just about everyday so I typically have an M4 in my vehicle sometime throughout the day.

I was thinking of getting a good palm pilot to manage all my contacts, meetings, keep pictures etc… Do you know of any good ones ???

Works well for all organization items as well as downloading your email, making phone calls, surfing the web, posting on REICLUB.COM, etc. Yes folks, I browse the forum while I drive…not recommeded.

I used to use a palm pilot for all that crap along with evaluating properties. Now I use a pretty blonde receptionist named Amanda…

P.S. - She was hired for her work abilities and qualifications! ::slight_smile:
