Why Are They in Jail - Judge wants to know!

LOL. Ok Captain Obvious, you know what I meant…

sellnbama,
So your big fear is that Socialism will lead to Communism? But Communism is a DEAD political system. Only the North Koreans are still spouting Communism, and they are really a dictatorship; using the failed Communist Central government-controlled method of food distribution, etc. That country has starved millions to death.

So you are worried that we are heading down the North Korean path? Where we will be trying to net sparrows for food?

My big fear is NOT Communism. It is a religious, right-wing, militaristic takeover. A government of simplistic (think Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney), rabid isolationists who really believe that America descended from the heavens under some kind of heavenly dispensation. That America and Americans can do no wrong. Because we are, damn it, Yes!–Godly. And it is our right to take what we need because we know best.

We’ve been there before. Remember “Manifest Destiny” from your US History class?

I am not afraid of our messy, cantankerous form of government. Where you get to vote in the best candidates, and they then vote on our policies.

And if you disagree with the policies, well, vote for the other side! All this posturing—“We’re going Socialist!” is ridiculous. And to say we’re going Communist even more so.

Socialism, communism, marxism are all the same in practice. They are all basically dictatorships. Look at China, Russia, Cuba, North Korea, etc. All basically dictatorships where the government rules the country with an iron fist. That is exactly where we’re headed in the USA. We’re just one emergency (real or false-flag) away from a dictatorship in the USA. The socialists are now consolidating their power and carefully following the plan outlined in the Cloward and Piven Strategy and by Saul Alinsky. It’s there for anyone to read and study.

My big fear is NOT Communism. It is a religious, right-wing, militaristic takeover.

You should be! That is also a possibility. When the current socialist regime finishes destroying the economy, either they’ll be able to shape the country in their image or another group will take over. As a former military officer, I doubt if the officer corps will allow a socialist coup. I’d like to go on record as saying that a right-wing, militaristic coup wouldn’t be much better. Too bad that the American people were dumb enough to elect a socialist as President. We’re all going to pay a steep price for that mistake.

Furnished,
Thanks for the civil response.I hate when some people resort to insults.ANyhow,I say that because of the actions of Nancy Pelosi “We have to pass the bill for you to see what’s in it” and Obama"I’m not gonna explain the details so the media can nitpick and politics as usual".This is dictatorship moves,is it not.No debate,no questions answered?

I say when we lose debate as Kennedy said we’ve lost a free country.China controls the media in full and still holds elections.Don’t you see the pattern here??The “free press” is gone and controled by bi govt. This should outrage you as much as it does me,because I know you can debate on facts, why can’t this administration.

I may would trust Warren Buffet or Steve Wynn if they said I’m doing this and it’s best. But I can’t trust someone who’s never even ran a lemonade stand, who is a career politician.Even still, anyone in public office should be accountable and debatable. If they can prove their suggestion will work, then why no debate on it??This administration has more anti capitalist, non business owners in it than any in the history of this great capitalist country.
And when a president says"at some point you’ve made enough money" --you and I should question when we’re at that point, who determines the point,when/how does it change, why??Alot of questions, and so far no answers, only sit down and shut up commands.Very dangerous, very sad.

sellnbama,
I am not following you at all. THERE HAS BEEN TONS OF DEBATE! It has been on every radio station and TV channel for weeks and weeks. I personally watched hours of it, LIVE, on C-Span, direct from the Senate and House.

You can’t take one politician’s sentence, pulled out of context, or even misspoken, and say “SEE! THAT’S THE BOGEYMAN I’M TALKING ABOUT!”

That’s actually what the muck-stirrers on the airwaves do every day. So that they can be exciting and get high ratings.

Obama has been heavily criticized for using a teleprompter, although he probably needs one less than any president in years. That criticism boggles my mind! But he’s very smart to do that. One misspoken sentence, one forgotten fact, and the Right is all over him like a punching bag. He’s real careful with his words, as he should be. He’s damned smart to use a teleprompter with that kind of audience constantly hanging on every nuance.

The same goes for Pelosi…the hounds are nipping at her heels every time she opens her mouth.

So what’s going on in Washington is not dangerous. And it’s not sad. We have a healthy, bi-partisan government there with lots of debate. Lately hateful, vituperative debate and mean comments, but nevertheless it functional debate. And finally bills get voted on and passed or rejected.

Sellnbama, I recommend that you read and listen to some other viewpoints. Read “The New Yorker” sometimes. The “Wall Street Journal”. The “Washington Post”. They are available online or at your bookstore. I try to read left, right, and middle. I get a daily right-wing newspaper, so I buy, borrow, or go online for other thoughts.

Then screw that radio and TV dial to stations that you don’t normally listen to. Shut off those toxic talking heads like Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck for a while. Listen to shows that have ACTUAL DEBATES between political viewpoints, not just self-aggrandicizing rants.

Please don’t fall into the “I hate Socialists” mud puddle along with propertymanager. It sounds to me like you do have an open enough mind that you welcome intelligent debate.

bama,

best of luck with what’s going on…used to work offshore down there.

allagash,

Thanks, everyone is trying to stay positive and volunteer where they can.I just hope they cap it off very, very soon.We can deal with a certain amount, but not an unlimited amount.Really bad for the country as a whole too.Enlighten me on the safeguards against this, alot of conspiracy theories going around.Thanks,again.

Enlighten me on the safeguards against this

I really don’t know anything about that.

I worked on a supply vessel in the Gulf…transporting drill pipe…drill mud…generators…diesel…potable water…food…(basically whatever was needed).

Was “this close” to taking a 2nd interview with Transocean…(basically moving from ships to rigs)…but opted out on that.

Here’s a photo of the Orleans I worked on…working under a rig:

I really enjoy working on the water…but with a young child…and a voracious appetite for making money…sometimes you’ve just got to cut the cord.

Allagash,

I gotcha. My uncle runs a shipyard that build/repairs supply boats.I believe alot of them are out of louisiana. My family right on the coast said it’s a horrible smell on the beach, like deisel.I think alot of people are underestimating how bad this will be.

Pray for a miracle.
