Very happy, couldnt take another failed test… would have been torture.

thanks guys!

Way to go Hoosier…great start to your young life…Congrats !!!

Awesome! Congrats!
Now you have concrete numbers so you can plan things out. Just making money with no budget or goals is a good way to waste lots of money. You’re starting out with a really good pay and have the possibility of really setting up your future.
Look at things like:
Do you have a 401(k)?
Will your employer provide any match to your contributions?
You can start a Roth IRA and contribute up to 5k per year. You can make up for this year’s contributions until April 15, 2011, but you can’t make up contributions any further back than that. So any years that you miss maxing out, you can’t really make up later.
How much do you need to save up for an investment property there? What are the banks requiring?

You’ve got an investment mindset. I’m excited to see you use this good pay as an opportunity to make your future something great!

Nice job Hoosier. Congrats on the test and the job. :beer

congratulations hoosier…

I’ve always come to believe that two is better than one

in your case having to take the test a 2nd time…you’re that much better off from the experience.

in a printing business we had…two German Heidelberg presses was much better than having just one.

this past week…going the extra mile(s) and meeting with two different branch managers at two different locations…definately paid off.
two beers is better than one… :beer

Best of luck in the new position.

Now you can change this thread to “Well guys…really pleased!” Congratulations and well done.

When I took my securities exam I had a hard time with the Series 63. I even attended the Phoenix School of Securities and Insurance in Scottsdale Arizona. A great school.

They told us not to take the exams until you can score 80% or better on the practice tests. I couldn’t score over 60% on the Series 63 tests. I couldn’t figure out what was going on because on the other exam practice tests I was scoring in the 90’s.

After weeks of trying and 2 days before the state Series 63 exam I spent 6 hours restudying definitions and laid down all my books and stopped studying a couples days before the exam.

I went in and took all the exams at the same time. On the Series 63 I scored in the upper 90’s and the others that I had been blowing away all the practice test I scored in the upper 80’s.

It just took a day or so to get away and let my head clear and for it all to settle in.
