isjiv I stumbled into this group as I was researching gulffront property to invest in . I live in cape coral fl. and have experienced one of the boomingest markets in the us for the last five years . It seems that this market (gulfcoast fl. ) is peaked ,or I just cant find anything that is a value . My wife and I were looking at galveston online and are interested in some property there , but now we are interersted in surfside , it looks as though this might be a good future area . We are going over at the end of august and we would appreciate any info you can relay to us . Also are there any good hotels in that area , or is it an easy drive from galveston
lsjiv- I am in frequent contact with some local friends in SS so will let you know if I hear of anything interesting for sale or anticipated.
Jeffcape- Surfside Beach is an easy 1 hour (or less) drive straight down the coast from Galveston (or 45 min straight shot over from HOBBY airport. I stayed at the Surfside Motel in Surfside which was fine and cheap, about 5 lots back from the beach.
There is good info and a number of helpful url links on Surfside (as well as some other greater Galveston/other TX areas) in this string if you read through the whole thing that will help you research, find info, realtors, etc.
Thanks isjiv , I have scoured the internet , it does seem a little behind the times down there as far as web sites and such. We are going to start in galveston and check out crystal beach/bolivar and then head to surfside . We are going onthe 20th and I will post when we return .
