Advantage/Liability of RE License

Am considering getting my license (located in TX). Have received mixed advice on the profit vs liability issue. Anyone out there have real life experience that relates? Of course, am looking to save fees on the purchase end; FSBO on the selling. What if it is not me; but someone (example adult child) working with me? Don’t want to have to get job with office; just use the license. Thanks in advance for any response.
