Condemned SFH

Generally speaking…once a home has been condemned…is it possible to purchase?

Thanks,
-Mike

Yes. After the house has been condemned, you will have to make things right to bring it back up to par before the city will “un-condemn” it. Of course at this point, you’ll be pulling permits for every little thing and all the work will have to be inspected. It is possible though.

My guess would be there was a reason the owner let it go to the point it was condemned.
Likeley it wasn’t profitable to get it fixed up in the first place.
Now that you have a bunch of red tape to cut, permits, Expensive Licensed tradespeople to pay. It has less of a chance.
That being said, a condemned property might be had for next to nothing. If you have a plan that can show cash flow, might be worth it.
