I recently bought an apartment complex that consists of 10 total units in 2 buildings. With the purchase i got an additional lot next to it that is already zoned multi family. Im curious if anyone has any idea of the cost for a basic 4 family? By zoning i can build up to 10 units on the land, but am thinking of just starting with one 4 family to get going. I know there are may different options on building, but im looking for a basic 2 story building with 2 up and 2 down. Thanks
That is probably going to depend on locale. You will need to speak with someone local to get you a construction price

Im located in Illinois, right outside of St. Louis. Yeah, i know there are many variables that could determine price. Im just looking for a rough figure.
I am a general contractor in Lehigh Valley, PA area and could build in this area for about $75/sq. ft. Assuming four 1,000 sq. ft. units, should be able to get done for around $300k. You may be able to do modular construction for less.
