Handrail at Rental

We have a newly acquired and rehabbed rental property and are just about to move our first tenant into this location.
It has never to our knowledge had a handrail for the front steps. Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any rules about not having a handrail for rental properties.
Note: This is not going to be Section 8.
Thanks

A handrail is generally required if there are more than 3 steps (4 or more risers). Of course, you should check your local building code.
