sorry for the people who are bored of all these simple questions, but since im new rei im want to learn as much as possible.
im have a idea what wholesaling is but dont know how it works and how to find property.

Buy low and resell. The American way. In REI it is simply buying or getting a property under contract and reselling at a higher price tp another investor or home owner and it is usually done without actually buying the property yourself but just flipping the contract so to speak.
Many methods to finf sellers who are forced to sell.
Bandit signs
Newspaper ads and other media TV Billboards etc
foreclosue posting
divorce and death notices
Other networks selling leads
