ductless heating/ ac

I am getting ready to rehab an older duplex to keep for rental. Because of its age (85 yrs.), it doesn’t lend itself well for central a/c due to no access to run ducts. Has anyone used the mini ductless systems or through the wall? What do most of you use besides window units? The duplex came with two large space heaters that I assume put out enough heat for up and downstairs. Any suggestions on cost effective solutions would be appreciated.

I looked into the Mitsubishi model last year on a house without duct work. I ended up going with a regular AC unit with the air handler in the attic…and flex duct work through a closet. It worked (and looked) like the house had duct work. Have an HVAC person come look at your home to see if something similar can be set up. The cost for mine (2300 sq. ft. split level) was around 5k.
