Easier financing on $500K+

I have heard from a few folks that lenders are much more willing to lend $500K+ for investing in apartment buildings, 4-plex, etc…than they are for SFH investments. Is there truth to this?

I have my doubts about this. The larger loans would imply an economy of scale and reduced per dollar underwriting costs. However, multi-family loans are inherently more risky than single family and there is nothing more appealing than the super-liquid secondary market in SF paper.
