Mapping properties

Hi,

I have found a very useful tool for mapping multiple properties.
It is Google Earth : http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html.

Example: http://earth.google.com/images/field.jpg

Let’s say you want to map all the properties sold in the vicinity of property X.
Once doawloaded to your computer you can have satellite view of all of them. You can zoom in or zoom out…add comments to each property.
I was looking for such a interactive map so I could get more info for property valuation.

Just wanted to share this and I hope it helps!

Angela.

I downloaded it when it first came out in Beta.
It’s great. You need to be careful or you will spend to much time flying around Earth instead of working. Ha ha

Good tip about adding all my propertys.

saying it based on experience ? ;) :)

Yes it is cool…
promise will mostly fly in business class ;D

Ang.

will it give me any mls info like sales prices of houses in that area or should i already know that?

No
It is satellite photographs of earth. You would have to see it. its cool and its free. It is like what you would see if you could fly.

Hello,

We are have been using google earth for a while. Sometime property locations can be off so be sure to check the photos carefully to identify the location of you property.

You might also want to search under GIS for the State you are in.
In New Jersey we use the NJ DEP GIS website that allows you to overlap wetlands, critical habitat, contaminated sites, etc. Most States have sites that provide this type of information.

We always use two mapping sources to be sure.
